Atlanta Premiere of Oscar Nominated Documentary - Hardwood

Please attend one of the special benefit showings of Hardwood, the Oscar nominated short documentary written and directed by my brother, Hubert Davis. Hubert will travel from Toronto and my mother will travel from Chicago to attend the screenings and participate in discussions following each showing.

Hardwood is a documentary about our family and the choices that my father, Mel “Trick” Davis, a former Harlem Globetrotter made and how those choices impacted our lives. It is an emotional and powerful story about family, love, and healing.

There is no admission for any of the showings. However, we are requesting that each of you consider providing a donation at the screening that you attend. The organizations benefited by each screening are listed below.

Friday’s showing will benefit a scholarship being established in our deceased grandmother’s name. The Pearl Davis Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student in the Georgia State University African American Studies Department.
